lder Morris Thomas, Jr. is the
Founder and Executive Director of Spiritual Aspects Ministries Inc.; a ministry
designed to impact and change peoples’ lives by ministering the Word of God.
Morris Thomas, Jr., (aka Elder
Mo, Uncle Mo) is the first born of the late Bishop Morris Thomas, Sr. and Pastor
Betty L. Thomas, Co-founders of Faith Tabernacle Church, Highland Park, Michigan, a non-denominational house of
worship. Morris Thomas Jr. is the father of two children, John Ward and Tonya
Stafford, the grandfather of seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Morris is currently an ordained Elder of Faith Tabernacle Church in Highland
Park, Michigan under the Pastoral leadership of his brother, Pastor V. Ricardo
Thomas, Sr.
Morris is a born again Christian,
not only in what he speaks, but also the way he lives. In addition to serving in the office of Elder
at FTC, he is a Certified Biblical Counselor, member of the National Biblical
Counseling Association, Christian Research and Development (CRD), Overseer of
the Intercessory Prayer Group, founder of the tutorial program P.T.K.O. (Pass
The Knowledge On), Director of the Inner Healing and Deliverance Team, member
of the Men of Faith Ministry; member of the Administrative Board and Elders
Council of FTC, and Sunday School and Bible Study Teacher. Morris has also served as church
Administrator and Finance Director. He served
as a volunteer chaplain of the Pastoral Care staff of St. John Detroit
Riverview Hospital and was a member of their (SJDRH) Spiritual Leadership
council. During this time, he was the recipient of the Spirit of Detroit Award.
Morris has worked in the Civil
Engineering field as a Civil Draftsman and Designer most of his adult
life. In 2005 he resigned from his full
time position as a Property Assessment Tech for Wayne County in Michigan to
work full time in the ministry.
Morris has completed extensive
Ministers training classes at FTC, all the while spending a tremendous amount
of time studying and ministering in the four mentioned areas. He participated in seminars at the Ashland
Theological Seminary conducted by Dr. Terry Wardle. Elder Mo has been and is called upon to
participate as a facilitator and teacher in seminars and conferences pertaining
to Inner Healing, Deliverance, Biblical Counseling and other life related
issues. As part of Faith Tabernacle
Church’s missionary team, he’s traveled to South Africa in 2004, 2005 and an
extended trip (one full month) in 2012. He also travels to Jamaica whenever possible spreading
the gospel and serving God’s people where needed. One of his highlights was visiting the Holy Land in Israel in 2012, a journey which he is looking forward to repeat. Elder Mo is currently
striving to be all that God has called him to be based on what God has spoken
to him, what God has shown him, what god has done for him and what God has
promised him. Luke 4:18 and Acts 1:8.
